Williams Summit Leadership

Williams

For the thirty-first consecutive year, Williams successfully raised more than one million dollars and surpassed their 2019 total by 16%. Their Volunteer Campaign Committee heavily focused on employee education that, in addition to the help of their Leadership Team, helped them to easily surpass 2019 employee pledges with a staggering increase in participation. This is their largest campaign in five years, especially impressive during a pandemic.

Williams is a leader in the community and we appreciate all the ways they support TAUW and make the community a better place to work and live.

Congratulations Williams!

Leadership Giving Award

Tulsa New Holland

Tulsa New Holland has shown a steady 10% increase every year for at least 7 years due in large part to their incredible commitment to the Tulsa Area United Way. Volunteer Coordinators incentivized Leadership Giving with personal home-baked goods and Executive Leadership increased support to meet their goal for the Tulsa New Holland 2020 Campaign.

Mid-Size Business Award

Omni Air International

Omni Air International has been a long-time leader in our Aerospace Division. Their 2020 Campaign followed all the Steps to a Successful Campaign with fun traditions and engagement opportunities that included an incredible participation rate of 90%, a dollar-for-dollar company match, Campaign Cabinet and Coordinator Volunteerism, strong affinity group participation, Day of Caring and even a special company-wide Food Drive.

Small Business Award

Neosource

Exemplary company culture of service and a strong supporter of the Tulsa Area United Way, the 2020 Neosource Campaign successfully featured amazing participation, a 14% overall increase, that included a 44% Leadership Giver increase. Their commitment to Volunteerism through Day of Caring project engagement year in and year out is a testament to their dedication to our Greater Tulsa community.

Green Country Business Award

Consolidated Turbine Specialists

The Pandemic-challenged economy and recent sale of the company to a national defense contractor didn't sway the leadership and company's commitment to its community and Tulsa Area United Way. With support and encouragement from its long-time president and internal committee, Consolidated Turbine increased their total giving and continue to be actively involved in Bristow.

Ignite Award

Asemio

Asemio truly “ignited” the 2020 United Way Campaign. Not only did they run their first ever campaign, they kicked off the first ever virtual campaign in United Way history back in June of 2020. In the process, Asemio showed great commitment to the United Way with 75% of givers giving at the leadership level and providing a corporate gift. Thank You, Asemio, for “igniting” the 2020 United Way campaign.

Illuminate Award

Bristow Social Services

Bristow Social Services is a leader of hope in the Bristow community and a beloved agency. Despite a dramatic increase in community needs driven by the pandemic, the agency held a solid campaign led by its dynamic executive director, increased its giving by 15% and demonstrated 100% participation by its Board of Directors.

Family & Children's Services

Family & Children's Servies exemplified a 2020 Campaign United in Hope in a year where service delivery and business operations were anything but clear. In the final days of the campaign, F&CS Team rallied to match their 5% employee giving increase and illuminate another successful Campaign.

Community Spirit Award

Saint Francis Health System

In a year where the staff, doctors, nurses, and faculty at the hospitals were already overworked, the team at Saint Francis stepped up for their community. Already a top campaign each year, Saint Francis rallied a 40% increase in their special event giving and increased their overall giving by 13%. We cannot say how truly thankful and grateful we are for our continued partnership with Saint Francis Health System.

It's amazing that they took time to participate in the campaign while faced with so many challenges due to the current crisis.

Momentum Award

Laredo Petroleum

Laredo continued to raise the bar this year with a 64% increase from their 2019 Campaign total! Led by the inspiration of Executive Leadership and Volunteer Coordinators, employees found multiple opportunities of community campaign engagement and provided a dollar-for-dollar company match. Lardeo Petroleum is a paragon of a great new culture of leadership in Tulsa and a valued community partner.

Innovator Award

Tulsa Community College

Tulsa Community College ran the model 2020 Campaign and set the standard for what a virtual campaign could look like moving forward. Participation on our Campaign Cabinet and a well-established Volunteer Campaign Committee organized engaging and HOPEFUL opportunities such as, Master Classes, Video Game Tournaments, Fun Run 5ks, Online Auction, and their very own Pack the Pantry Food Drive for Day of Caring. In a year of extreme uncertainties in serving their TCC Community, their campaign boasted tremendous success and character, one starfish at a time!

Price Family Properties

Price Family Properties approached TAUW with a pivotal and transformative idea this year to donate $100 per person, up to 1,000 people that would visit Downtown Tulsa to support their 2020 Campaign efforts and give people a way to safely social distance and get out in the community. We worked closely with their team to put on a wildly successful event! In addition to this innovative event, Price Family Properties successfully ran their traditional Campaign whereby employee pledging increased by nearly 9%.

Community Impact | 2020 At A Glance

In the middle of an unprecedented pandemic, our heroic donors, partner nonprofits, companies and volunteers, chose to take action and play a role in alleviating hardships through Tulsa Area United Way’s 2020 Campaign. Many of you dug deep into your wallets and increased your annual gifts to help us exceed our goal and raise $24,025,924. By working together, we can keep the social safety net strong to help thousands of our family, friends and neighbors in need. Thank you for Living United!

2020 Women United
CLYDELLA HENTSCHEL AWARD

Caron Lawhorn

Caron Lawhorn is the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at ONE Gas.

As the 2020 Tulsa Area United Way Campaign Chair, Caron led the historic 2020 campaign with inspiring tenacity, and we look forward to her continued leadership as the 2021 Tulsa Area United Way board chair.

Inspired by her visits to the 59 Tulsa Area United Way partner agencies, Caron boldly asked fellow community members and leaders to join her in improving lives and strengthening Tulsa area communities. She recruited and filled all seats on her campaign cabinet, spoke with many organizations and individuals about supporting the campaign, and even got slimed!

No challenge was too daunting, and Caron helped develop strategies to navigate and adapt to the new virtual environment. Leading by example and despite the tough economic conditions, Caron helped rally the team at ONE Gas for a record-breaking year, raising $1 million for the community.

Caron is a previous Women United chair and remains involved as a member of the newly formed Advisory Council. She is also on the board of directors for AAON and serves on the board of regents of Tulsa Community College, the American Gas Association's Finance Committee and is past chair of the board of directors of the Southern Gas Association. She is a graduate of Leadership Oklahoma Class 21 and Leadership Tulsa Class 32.

2020 Emerging Leaders Society
VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR AWARD

Macy Johnson

Macy Johnson is the Vice President and Manager of Talent Development at Bank of Oklahoma.

Macy currently serves as the 2020 Emerging Leaders Society Chair (ELS), and is returning as the 2021 chair to see her innovative volunteerism initiatives come to life. Macy also served as the ELS Vice Chair in 2019.

Macy was instrumental in developing the ELS signature event, Time for a Cause, which will generate volunteers for Tulsa Area United Way partner agencies through mentorship incentives. She also sparked the initiative to gather hundreds of tech accessories to help students succeed in distance learning environments.

As the ELS Chair, Macy has strategically formed her committees to broadly represent corporate partners, big and small, and designed these committees to be efficient and respectful of volunteers' time, while maximizing their engagement.

Macy is on the steering committee of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oklahoma and is a Big Sister mentor. She also serves on the board of directors for The Risk Management Association and has served on Tulsa Area United Way community investment panels for three years.
